In order to be on fire, enter into the Heart of Christ.
The Lord desires to do more than call us to be close to Him. He wants to give Himself entirely to us. So the Holy Spirit makes us enter into the very Heart of Jesus, into this blazing furnace of Love.
What we must ask the Lord is for Him to light the fire in our hearts. We must place ourselves in His Heart since it is a raging furnace. Well, it spreads to us: we will burn like matchwood. But then, if we’re burning with love, it’s quite a different matter!
When we are in the Heart, we have everything, says the little Therese. Well, that’s what the Lord is asking of us. We’re always hearing about the Heart of Jesus which was pierced, but I want you to remember that it is essentially linked to Pentecost, when Peter goes out with the power of the Spirit and he starts speaking: “The Lord and Christ whom God has made is this Jesus whom you crucified” – whom we crucified. So, on hearing this they were pierced to the heart. The Holy Spirit “pierces” our heart as it says in the Acts of the Apostles to make them one with the Heart of Jesus.
